Reviving a formerly successful joint for a fresh community favorite.
It’s been said that food doubles as a means of sustenance and a metaphor for life lessons in Caribbean households. A big lesson for Tasha Cyril, co-owner of the new Belle & Lily’s Caribbean Brunch House, is that as demanding as the restaurant business can be the rewards of following your passion toward special personal connection and community enrichment are so much sweeter.
Pollock Commercial is proud to assist small businesses with their real estate needs and other demands, especially restaurants like Belle & Lily’s. Vice President Michael Dinerman worked with Cyril in purchasing the former Havana Soul Café, which has been transformed into the Caribbean brunch spot.
“We have worked with Tasha as part of the restaurant group behind the fresh, creative restaurant concepts Ms. Icey’s Kitchen & Bar in Decatur and Apt. 4B in Buckhead,” said Dinerman. “With her growth and experiences there she was ready for her next venture.”
Located at 3350 Chamblee Tucker Rd. near the intersection of interstates 85 and 285, the restaurant property had been a successful neighborhood Cuban joint for 20-plus years, but the ownership aged out and sold. The new owner was absent and expanded the menu beyond the restaurant’s capabilities. Dinerman and Pollock Commercial saw the value in the current lease, the furniture, equipment and fixtures, and the opportunity for the client to step in and take the establishment beyond its former glory days.
Cyril saw an opportunity in the Atlanta perimeter market for Caribbean food, specifically brunch-style fare. The menu includes seafood tostones with crab and lobster served on fried green plantains, conch fritters, a seafood skillet scramble and Caribbean rum-flavored pancakes with ginger hibiscus syrup. Originally from St. Lucia, Cyril pays homage to the island with inspired food and thoughtful design all the way down to the details of the woven placemats, which are similar to the ones that she and her family would make by hand back home.
“Tasha’s passion for food and culture drives her attention to detail in the cuisine and design, as well as providing customers the most delightful experience possible,” said Dinerman. “With her drive and smile I can assure you this will not be her last venture.”
Like its restaurant client, Pollock Commercial knows the appetite for personal service and attention to detail is a big one. The boutique real estate brokerage is glad to serve Belle & Lily’s so it can serve many happy customers.
