Katie Sentell: Leading the Charge as Georgia CCIM President

Katie Sentell's journey to Georgia CCIM presidency highlights leadership excellence.

All who work with Katie Sentell call her abundantly helpful and very prepared, the ultimate team player. In fact, a colleague at Pollock Commercial likened the 20-year commercial real estate (CRE) pro to a Swiss Army knife (though made in Texas, not Switzerland) because “she has that ‘can-do attitude’ no matter what the task or situation.”

Now the Georgia CRE sector will call Sentell president after being sworn in as the head of the 2024 Georgia CCIM Chapter — a true servant leader.

“I am so honored to spend the year leading a very special group of colleagues and friends and totally humbled by all the people who came out to support me,” said Sentell. “In commercial real estate, it is as much whom you know as what you know and I’m fortunate to know some really great folks.”

For more than 50 years, the Georgia Chapter of CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) has been bringing together the state’s best and brightest professionals for networking events, behind-the-scenes access to new developments, trends and best practices, and educational opportunities. Sentell has seen the organization from just about every angle and served in perhaps every role, including volunteer, board member and now chapter head. She was chapter administrator for six years.

“It is a remarkable milestone for Katie to be installed as president of Georgia CCIM considering that she was, not long ago, the chapter administrator,” said Kent Mason, senior vice president and market officer at Prologis and past chapter president. “This has to be a first.”

“It’s quite an incredible journey — probably unprecedented,” said Jeff Pollock, Pollock Commercial’s founder and principal and also a former president of Georgia CCIM. “Her path is so unique.”

It was CCIM that connected Sentell and Pollock in the first place thanks to a Mason introduction. Since then, the Texas native has earned the prestigious CCIM designation and made the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors Million Dollar Club on multiple occasions. In 2023, Sentell was recognized as the highest-grossing agent at Pollock Commercial.

Pollock added, “The skills she has mastered along the way have served our firm and the CCIM chapter well. Now that she is at the helm, I view it as a culmination of many years of leadership training in the making, and it’s time for all of us to benefit.”
