Shared Office Space is Gaining a Foothold in Atlanta
Industrious – a national company offering monthly memberships that provide freelancers, start-ups and entrepreneurs access to their flexible shared office space – opened their second Atlanta location at Ponce City Market in early September. Today, the nearly 30,000 SF space is more than 60% filled. Of course part of the draw of this space is its unconventional amenities – like fair trade, organic coffee, arcade games, and relaxation rooms – and it’s prime location in the city’s most talked about adaptive reuse project. But, its popularity combined with the fact that Atlanta is currently the only city with two Industrious outposts speaks volumes about the changing demand for office space in the city. With the rise of freelancers and startups in the Atlanta economy, a flexible workspace that provides a top-level experience while keeping overhead low is an attractive option.
