Is Downtown Destined for a Flashy Future?

The next few years are going to be eventful in Atlanta. And, as the city makes huge strides to cement itself as a world-class destination, one effort on behalf of downtown Atlanta may lead to Peachtree Street looking suspiciously like one of America’s other major urban landmarks, New York City’s Times Square. A new ordinance proposes to encourage the city to loosen its signage restriction in Atlanta’s Arts and Entertainment District ahead of the 2019 Super Bowl. This would lead to large, Times Square-Esque signage becoming one of the main attractions of Peachtree Street. For more on the ordinance and its reception, please click here to visit Curbed Atlanta.
